Chiperoo Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2/3 c. shortening
    1 lb. brown sugar
    2 3/4 c. sifted flour
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3 eggs
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
    1 c. broken nuts
Preparation
    Melt shortening.
    Stir in brown sugar.
    Mix well and cool. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
    To shortening mixture, add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Blend in dry ingredients.
    Stir in chocolate pieces and nuts. Spread in a greased 15 x 10 x 1-inch pan.
    Or for thicker bars, use a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 50 minutes.
    When almost cool, cut into bars.
    Makes about 3 dozen.
