Baked Pretzels - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. flour
    2/3 c. milk
    2 Tbsp. butter or margarine, softened
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. wheat germ (optional)
    1 egg, beaten
    coarse salt
Preparation
    Mix flour, milk, butter, baking powder, sugar and salt to a soft dough.
    Gently knead on a floured surface into a smooth ball, adding small amounts of flour to dough, if necessary.
    Take walnut size pieces of dough and roll into long strips, 12 to 15-inches long by 1/4-inch thick.
    Twist each strip into pretzel shape and place seam side down on a greased cookie sheet. Brush pretzels with beaten egg and sprinkle with coarse salt.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes, until golden.
