Summer Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 (7 oz.) boxes ring macaroni
    3/4 to 1 c. diced onion
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. vinegar
    1 c. diced celery
    1 c. diced cucumbers, do not peel
    1 1/2 c. salad dressing
    1 tsp. salt
    2 c. shredded carrots
    diced ham (optional)
Preparation
    Cook macaroni according to directions on package.
    Drain and rinse with cold water.
    In a bowl, mix together the pepper, salad dressing, sugar, salt and vinegar. Blend well.
    Stir in vegetables, ham and noodles. Refrigerate overnight.
