All-American Apple Pie - cooking recipe

1 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
pastry for 2 crust 9-inch pie
1/4 tsp. salt
5 c. thinly sliced apples
2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
Preparation

Combine sugar, flour, spices and salt.
Add apples and toss to mix.
Roll out pastry and line pie pan.
Trim off overhang.
Roll pastry for top, cut vents near center.
Add half the apples.
Pack well.
Dot with butter.
Add remaining apples.
Moisten rim with water.
Adjust top crust.
Leave 1/2-inch beyond edge and fold under seal and trim.
Brush with milk.
Bake at 400\u00b0 for 1 hour.
