Sweet Potato Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sweet potatoes, cooked and mashed
    1/2 c. butter, melted
    2 eggs, separated
    1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. ginger
    1/2 c. milk
    1/4 c. sugar
    1 (9-inch) unbaked pastry shell
Preparation
    Combine
    potatoes,
    butter, egg yolks, brown sugar, salt and spices.
    Stir
    in milk, mix well.
    Beat egg whites (at room temperature) on high
    speed
    with
    electric mixer for 1 minute. Gradually add the 1/4
    cup\tsugar,\t1
    tablespoon
    at
    a
    time, beating until stiff
    and
    peaks
    form.
    Fold
    egg
    whites
    into potato mixture.
    Spoon into unbaked pastry shell.
    Bake at 450\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
    Reduce
    heat to 350\u00b0 and bake an additional 45 minutes or until set.
    Yield: 1 (9-inch) pie.
