Cutout Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg
    2 tsp. baking powder
    2 1/2 c. cake flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream shortening well.
    Add sugar and blend together.
    Sift baking powder, flour and salt together and add to creamed mixture alternately with milk.
    Stir in vanilla.
    Chill.
    Roll out 1/16-inch thick on pastry cloth.
    Cut in designs.
    Brush with egg white and decorate.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
    Makes 100 (2-inch) cookies.
