Sweet Dill Chips - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. kosher whole dills
    1/4 c. cider vinegar
    2 c. sugar
    1/4 c. water
    1 onion, sliced thin
Preparation
    Drain pickles and slice; layer with onion back into jar or several smaller jars.
    Boil sugar, water and vinegar for 3 minutes.
    Pour over to cover and put lids on tightly.
    Let sit on counter for 3 days, then refrigerate.
