Peanut Patties - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. granulated sugar
    1 c. milk
    2/3 c. Karo syrup (white)
    3 c. shelled raw peanuts
    2 tsp. butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
    few drops red food coloring
Preparation
    Cook the sugar, milk, Karo syrup and peanuts on low fire for 1 hour, or until mixture forms a semi-firm ball when dropped into cold water.
    Stir real often.
    Add the butter, vanilla and food coloring.
    Beat for 3 or 4 minutes.
    Drop by teaspoonful onto wax paper.
    Yields about 35 patties.
