Holiday Mint Pie - cooking recipe

1 c. fudge mint cookies, crushed
3 Tbsp. hot water
graham cracker crust
1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
1/3 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. milk
1/4 tsp. peppermint extract
3 1/2 c. (8 oz.) Cool Whip
6 to 10 drops green food color
red hots
spearmint leaves
Preparation

Mix cookies and hot water; spoon over crust.
Beat cream cheese until smooth; gradually add sugar, milk and peppermint extract.
Fold in whipped topping.
Divide mixture in half.
Add green food coloring to half.
Fill pie crust, alternating dollops of white and green whip.
Smooth with spatula.
Chill for 3 hours.
Top with spearmint leaves and candies.
