Jiffy Hamburger Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. water
    5 beef bouillon cubes
    1 large onion, diced
    3/4 c. celery, diced
    1 clove garlic, pressed
    1 bay leaf
    1/2 to 1 lb. ground round, browned, drained and crumbled
    1 large can tomatoes
    vegetables: carrots, potatoes, etc., cubed
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Dissolve bouillon cubes in boiling water.
    Add next four ingredients and simmer covered 1/2 hour.
    Add remaining ingredients.
    Simmer 15 minutes.
    Skim off fat.
    Serves 8.
    Add any leftover vegetables.
