Pralines - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. soda
    1 c. buttermilk
    1/8 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. butter
    2 1/2 c. pecans
Preparation
    In a heavy saucepan, combine sugar, soda, buttermilk, salt and butter.
    Cook over high heat for 5 minutes.
    Stir constantly until candy reaches soft ball stage, about 5 minutes.
    Remove from heat and let cool.
    Add pecans.
    Beat until light and creamy.
    Drop by tablespoon onto waxed paper and cool.
