Lemon Nut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. butter
    2 c. sugar
    6 eggs, separated
    1 oz. lemon extract
    1 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in 1 tsp. warm water
    5 c. all-purpose flour (hold back 1 c. for nuts)
    4 c. nuts, chopped
    1 box golden raisins
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
    Add egg yolks, one at a time.
    Add dissolved soda and flavoring, along with 4 cups of flour.
    Blend well.
    Stir in nuts and raisins, mixed with the reserved cup of flour.
    Beat egg whites until stiff; add to the batter-nut mix.
    Mix well.
    Pour into tube pan.
    Bake at 275\u00b0 to 300\u00b0 for 2 hours, until done.
