Mama Dub Fruit Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
3 c. flour (self-rising)
4 eggs
2 c. preserves (homemade heavy pear)
1/2 box raisins
1/2 lb. candied cherries
1 tsp. vanilla
6 c. whole pecans
Preparation

Prepare tube cake pan with heavy brown paper and grease good. Set aside about 1 cup of flour of the 3 cups measured.
Reserve the raisins, cherries, preserves and nuts.
Mix other ingredients to a good batter.
Dredge raisins, cherries, preserves, nuts and flour you have reserved together.
Add this to the batter.
Bake at 200\u00b0 until done, about 6 hours.
