Jambalaya - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1 green pepper, chopped
    1 lb. sliced, cooked Polish sausage
    1 lb. large frozen shrimp
    16 oz. can tomatoes, drained
    1 can chicken broth
    1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
    3/4 c. uncooked white rice
    2 tsp. sugar
    1 tsp. thyme
    1/2 tsp. garlic powder
    1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1 bay leaf
Preparation
    In a large Dutch oven, melt butter.
    Saute onion in butter for 2 to 3 minutes or until tender. Stir in remaining ingredients. Blend well. Cover and simmer for 20 to 30 minutes until rice is tender and liquid has been absorbed, stirring occasionally. Remove bay leaf and serve.
