Divinity - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. sugar
1/2 c. light corn syrup
1/2 c. hot water
1/4 tsp. salt
2 stiffly beaten egg whites
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Combine sugar, syrup, water and salt.
Cook to hard ball stage or 248\u00b0.
(Cook at No. 7 on electric stove.)
Slowly pour syrup over egg whites, beating constantly.
Beat 1 minute on high speed; let cool 1 minute.
Alternate until mixture begins to change from glossy to dull in color.
Add vanilla and nuts.
Beat until candy holds shape.
Drop on waxed paper.
If mixture becomes too thick, add a drop of hot water.
