Jam Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 c. margarine
    1 tsp. grated lemon rind
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 egg
    10 oz. jar strawberry or grape preserves
Preparation
    Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
    Cut in margarine until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
    Stir in egg and lemon rind.
    Press half of mixture into bottom of greased 9-inch square pan.
    Spread with preserves.
    Top with remaining crumb mixture.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes or until brown.
    Cool and cut into squares.
