Derby Breakfast Yeast Biscuits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 cake or pkg. yeast
    1 c. warm buttermilk
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1/2 c. shortening
Preparation
    Dissolve yeast in warm buttermilk; set aside.
    Sift soda, salt, sugar and flour into a bowl.
    Cut in shortening.
    Add yeast mixture.
    Stir until blended.
    Knead and roll 1/2-inch thick. Cut.
    Dip in melted butter.
    Place in greased pan; let rise 1 hour. Bake at 400\u00b0 for 12 minutes.
