Pecan Chews - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. soft caramels
    2 Tbsp. heavy cream
    1 1/4 c. pecan halves
    dipping chocolate (optional)
Preparation
    In a double boiler melt the caramels and heavy cream over hot, not boiling water.
    Scatter nuts thickly in the bottom of the pan. Let caramel mixture cook a few minutes, then drop spoonfuls of the caramel partially over the nuts, letting the nuts stick out around the caramel.
    Let stand until firm, then cover or dip each piece with chocolate.
