Pralines (Candy) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 cups sugar
    1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
    1 cup evaporated milk
    2 cups pecan halves
    2 tbsp. margarine or butter
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    dash of salt
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients in a large heavy saucepan.
    Cook over low heat to soft ball stage 232\u00b0 stirring constantly.
    Remove from heat and beat with a wooden spoon just until mixture begins to thicken.
    Working rapidly, drop by tbsp. onto greased waxed paper. Let stand until firm.
    Yield 2 dozen.
