Mexican-Style Cheese Strata - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. flavored tortilla chips, broken
    2 c. Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
    6 eggs, beaten
    2 1/2 c. milk
    1 (4 oz.) can green chillies, drained, seeded and chopped into slices
    1/4 c. onion, finely chopped
    3 tsp. catsup
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. bottled hot pepper sauce
    whole tortilla chips
    halved tomatoes
Preparation
    Sprinkle the broken tortilla chips evenly over the bottom of 12 x 7 x 2-inch baking dish.
    Sprinkle cheese in a medium bowl; combine with rotary beater the eggs, milk, green chillies, onion, catsup, salt and hot pepper sauce.
    Pour over cheese in dish. Cover.
    Refrigerate several hours or overnight.
    Bake, uncovered, in 350\u00b0 oven 50 to 55 minutes or until set and lightly browned. Garnish with whole tortilla chips and halved tomato slices.
    Makes 6 servings.
