End-Of-The-Month Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 oz. lean ground beef
    1 onion, chopped
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    1 small head cabbage, shredded
    2 carrots, peeled and sliced thin
    2/3 c. quick cooking rice
    1 (13 oz.) reduced-sodium tomato soup
    1 1/2 c. water
    1/2 tsp. black pepper
    1 tsp. ground cumin or more to taste
Preparation
    Brown ground beef in a skillet with onion and garlic.
    Drain well.
    Combine with cabbage, carrots, rice, soup, water, pepper and cumin in a 3-quart casserole dish.
    Bake in 350\u00b0 oven, covered, for an hour.
    Or cover dish with plastic wrap and cook on High (100%) power in microwave oven for 15 to 20 minutes, stopping twice to stir.
    The casserole is done when cabbage and carrots are tender.
    Makes 4 to 5 servings.
