Copper Pennies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. carrots, peeled and cut into 1/4-inch coins
    1/2 large onion, diced
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1/3 c. + 2 tsp. red wine vinegar
    1/2 tsp. prepared mustard
    1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
    1/4 c. vegetable oil
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 large green pepper, diced
    2 3/4 oz. tomato juice
Preparation
    Cut tomatoes in halves.
    Make topping of onion, fine bread crumbs, salt, pepper, oregano and basil.
    Mix together with plenty of melted butter.
    Put crumb mixture on top of each tomato half. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
