Caramel Pecan Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 baked pastry shell
    3 Tbsp. butter
    4 Tbsp. flour
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 egg
    1 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. pecans, toasted and chopped
    1 container Cool Whip
Preparation
    Cream butter, flour and sugar until smooth.
    Beat egg.
    Add milk, then stir into creamed mixture.
    Cook in top of double boiler until thickened, stirring constantly.
    Cool, then add vanilla and pecans, lightly toasted.
    (Microwave works well for this.)
    Pour into pastry shell and chill.
    Top with Cool Whip just prior to serving.
