Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. Crisco shortening
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 scant tsp. salt
    2 1/2 oz. red food coloring
    1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
    1 tsp. soda
    1 Tbsp. cocoa
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vinegar
Preparation
    Cream Crisco, sugar and eggs together.
    In a separate bowl, make a paste of food coloring and cocoa.
    Add to the first mixture.
    Add vanilla to buttermilk, salt and flour.
    Add this to the first mixture.
    Beat 2 minutes at high speed.
    Add vinegar and soda; stir gently.
    Bake in 2 layer pans at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
