Squash Relish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 large squash
    4 medium onions
    1 green bell pepper
    1 red bell pepper
    3 c. sugar
    2 1/2 c. vinegar
    1 c. water
    2 tsp. celery seed
Preparation
    Chop vegetables; cover with ice water, mixed with 1/2 cup salt.
    Let stand 1 hour.
    Drain and rinse, then drain again.
    Pour boiled mixture over vegetables.
    Put on low heat 10 to 15 minutes. Get hot, but do not boil, the last 4 ingredients.
    Put in hot jars and seal.
