Mother P'S Biscuits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. flour
    2 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. baking soda
    4 tsp. cream of tartar
    6 to 8 Tbsp. shortening
    1 3/4 c. milk
    butter
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 425\u00b0.
    Blend first 5 ingredients with pastry cutter until very fine.
    Blend in milk just until moist.
    Roll out on floured board 1-inch thick.
    Cut with large biscuit cutter. Place on slightly greased cookie sheet.
    Place a dab of butter on each biscuit.
    Bake 10 to 15 minutes or until browned.
    Serve hot.
