Crumb Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. flour
    2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1/2 tsp. allspice
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1 c. shortening
    1 egg
    1 c. sour milk
    1 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Mix dry ingredients, except soda, together.
    Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse corn meal.
    Reserve scant cup crumbs for topping.
    To remaining crumbs add egg, sour milk* and soda.
    Beat well.
    Pour into greased and floured 9 x 13-inch sheet cake pan.
    Sprinkle reserved crumbs evenly over top.
    Bake for 45 minutes in preheated 350\u00b0 oven.
