Ingredients

6 egg whites, beaten stiff
3 c. sugar
3/4 c. butter
3 tsp. hot water
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
6 tsp. baking powder
4 7/8 c. cake flour
1/4 tsp. salt
2 1/4 c. ice water
Preparation

Line pan with wax paper.
Cream sugar, butter, hot water and vanilla.
Sift baking powder, cake flour and salt.
Add alternately with water.
Fold in egg whites.
