Amaretto Bread Pudding - cooking recipe

1 (1 lb.) loaf challah bread with poppy seed
1 qt. half and half
2 Tbsp. (1/4 stick) unsalted butter, room temperature
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs, room temperature
2 Tbsp. almond extract
3/4 c. golden raisins
3/4 c. sliced almonds
Amaretto Sauce
Preparation

Break challah into 1-inch pieces in a large bowl.
Add half and half.
Cover and let stand 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
