Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. cornmeal
    1 c. milk
    1 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. baking powder
    2 small onions, chopped
Preparation
    Mix ingredients together well; roll into balls, or drop from a spoon into the hot shortening.
    Brown them; drain on a paper towel.
    These are especially good if fried in the deep lard left over from a frying fish!
