Crackling Corn Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. self-rising white corn meal
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 egg
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. buttermilk
    1/2 c. plain milk
    2 Tbsp. bacon drippings or shortening
    4 Tbsp. cracklings, finely ground
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 425\u00b0.
    Melt drippings in shallow baking pan. While drippings melt, beat egg, then add dry ingredients.
    Mix well with milks and add cracklings.
    Add excess drippings to other ingredients and stir well.
    Pour into pan and bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.
