Holiday Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. red hots
    2 1/2 c. boiling water
    2 pkg. cherry gelatin
    2 (No. 2) cans applesauce
Preparation
    Melt red hots in boiling water.
    Add gelatin and stir in applesauce.
    Chill until firm in an 8-inch mold or pour into individual serving dishes.
    Unmold on plate.
    Serve with whipped cream or sour cream.
