Bran Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. brown sugar
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. milk
    1/8 tsp. baking soda
    1 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 c. bran
Preparation
    Boil all ingredients except bran to soft ball stage.
    Cool to room temperature.
    Add bran.
    If desired, 1/2 cup raisins, dates or nuts may be added.
    Beat until stiff enough to knead.
    Turn onto board dusted with powdered sugar.
    Knead until smooth.
    Shape into a roll and slice.
