Strawberry Almond Shortcake Torte - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. margarine, softened
    1 egg
    1 tsp. almond extract
    1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 c. sliced almonds, toasted
    1 oz. carton (2 c.) nonfat sour cream
    1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. almond extract
    1 to 2 c. strawberries, hulled and halved
    1/4 c. strawberry jello, melted
Preparation
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
    In a large mixer bowl, beat 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup margarine at medium speed until well mixed, about 1 to 2 minutes.
    Add 1 egg and 1 teaspoon almond extract.
    Continue beating, scraping bowl often, until creamy, 1 to 2 minutes.
