Hash Brown Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (32 oz.) pkg. thawed hash brown potatoes
    1/2 c. melted butter
    1 (10 oz.) can cream of mushroom soup
    12 oz. grated American cheese
    1 (8 oz.) sour cream
    dash of salt and pepper
    1/2 small onion, diced
    1 c. crushed Ritz crackers
    1/4 c. melted butter
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Place thawed potatoes in a 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
    Combine next 7 ingredients; pour over potatoes.
    Top with crushed crackers and drizzle with 1/4 cup melted butter. Bake, uncovered, for 45 minutes.
