Wild Horse Barbecued Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. salt pork, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
    1 onion, diced
    1 (40 oz.) can pork and beans
    1/4 c. dark molasses
    1/4 c. brown sugar
    1 Tbsp. yellow prepared mustard
    1/4 tsp. ground ginger
    1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
    1/4 tsp. ground cumin
    1 to 4 jalapeno peppers, minced
    1/2 c. bottled barbecue sauce
    salt to taste
Preparation
    Fry salt pork over medium heat.
    When it is rendered but not yet crisp, add onion and cook until onion is soft.
    Drain canned beans of excess liquid and combine them with salt pork, drippings and onion.
    Stir in molasses, brown sugar, mustard, ginger, cayenne pepper, cumin, jalapeno pepper and barbecue sauce.
    Pour into earthenware pot or casserole.
    Stir in extra chunks of already barbecued meat, if desired.
    Bake uncovered 1 hour.
    Serves 6 to 8.
