Banana Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. soft shortening
    1 egg
    3/4 c. milk
    1 c. mashed banana
    3 c. sifted flour
    3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Mix sugar, shortening and egg together.
    Stir in milk and bananas.
    In a separate bowl sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
    Mix well with banana mixture.
    Blend in nuts.
    Pour into a well-greased loaf pan.
    Let stand 20 minutes before baking.
    Bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for about 70 minutes or until pick stuck in center comes out clean (crack down center is characteristic).
