Goldies Relish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. onions
    10 green tomatoes
    12 green peppers
    6 red (sweet) peppers
    1/2 c. salt
    5 c. sugar
    3 c. vinegar
    1 1/2 c. water
    1 Tbsp. celery seed
    2 Tbsp. mustard seed
    1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
Preparation
    Chop fine first 4 ingredients.
    Pour salt over; cover with ice and let stand overnight.
    Drain and rinse with cold water.
    Mix remaining 6 ingredients.
    Pour over vegetables.
    Heat to boiling; lower temperature and simmer for 3 minutes.
    Pack in hot jars. Process for 5 minutes, if desired.
    Will keep without processing.
