7 Week Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. boiling water
    2 c. 40% bran flakes
    1 c. shortening
    4 eggs
    1 qt. buttermilk
    5 c. flour
    5 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    4 c. Bran Buds
    2 c. nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Combine water and bran flakes; cool.
    Add shortening and eggs; beat well.
    Add buttermilk.
    In another bowl, sift flour, soda, salt and sugar.
    Fold into wet mixture.
    Add Bran Buds and nuts. Store in a covered container in refrigerator.
    Use as you wish within 7 weeks.
    You can add chocolate chips just before baking. Bake at 375\u00b0 for 20 minutes.
