Chili - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 to 3 lb. ground beef
    1 onion, chopped
    2 cans dark red kidney beans
    2 (14 oz.) cans stewed tomatoes
    1 (14 oz.) can tomato sauce
    salt and pepper
    1 bay leaf
    8 whole cloves
    3 Tbsp. chili powder
Preparation
    Brown meat with chopped onion.
    Drain.
    Add all remaining ingredients.
    Cook in heavy pot for 30 to 45 minutes.
    Check for taste.
    Add more chili powder and a dash of red pepper for a \"hotter\" chili.
    Serves 6.
