Corn Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. corn meal
    1 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 tsp. soda
    1/4 c. bacon fat or shortening
    1 1/2 c. buttermilk
    2 eggs
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients.
    Beat vigorously 30 seconds.
    Pour into greased round layer pan or square 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan.
    Bake at 450\u00b0 until golden brown, 25 to 30 minutes.
    Serve warm.
    Or make fried corn bread.
    Drop by ladleful into hot grease in frying pan.
    Turn as you would a pancake.
