Peanut Patties - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. raw peanuts
    2/3 c. white Karo syrup
    pinch of salt
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. milk
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    5 drops red food coloring
    1 Tbsp. butter
Preparation
    Bring the peanuts, Karo syrup, pinch of salt, sugar and milk to a boil, then simmer for 1 hour.
    Stir occasionally.
    Add the vanilla, food coloring and butter.
    Beat until thickened.
    Drop by tablespoonful onto waxed paper.
