Dried Cherry Scones - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. all-purpose flour
    1/3 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 egg
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    6 Tbsp. butter
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    2/3 c. dried cherries
Preparation
    Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a bowl.
    Cut in 6 tablespoons butter with two knives or a pastry blender until the mixture looks like fine meal.
    In a separate bowl, mix together egg, buttermilk and vanilla.
    Mix liquid ingredients slowly with dry ingredients.
    Use fingers or a fork. Add dried fruit (cherries, cranberries, raisins, etc.).
    Pat into 8-inch diameter disc on an ungreased cookie sheet.
    Bake in a preheated 400\u00b0 oven for 18 to 20 minutes.
