Stuffed Steak - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 beef top loin steak, cut 1 1/2 to 2 inches thick (about 1 lb.)
2 Tbsp. chopped onion
2 Tbsp. chopped mushrooms
2 tsp. butter or margarine
2 oz. diced ham (1/2 c.)
2 tsp. fine dry bread crumbs
2 tsp. snipped parsley
2 tsp. cooking oil
1/2 slice Swiss cheese (1/2 oz.)
Preparation

Cut a deep slit horizontally in the steak to form a pocket. Cook the onion and mushrooms in butter or margarine until tender. Stir in ham, bread crumbs, parsley, oil and dash of pepper.
Cook 2 minutes more.
Spoon mixture into pocket in meat; place cheese in pocket.
Secure pocket with skewers.
Place steak on unheated rack of broiler pan.
Broil 4 inches from the heat about 8 minutes per side for medium-rare or until of desired doneness.
To serve, slice meat crosswise.
Makes 2 servings.
