Microwave Caramel - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. margarine
    2 1/4 c. brown sugar or 1 box
    1 c. white syrup
    1 can sweetened condensed milk
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. or more nuts (as desired)
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Microwave 5 minutes on High; stir well.
    Cook 5 minutes longer on High; beat well with wooden spoon.
    Cook 8 minutes longer.
    Add nuts.
    Pour into buttered pan.
    Cool and cut into squares.
