Chinese Chews - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. flour
    2 eggs, beaten
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 pinch salt
    1 c. chopped dates
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Mix sugar, eggs, salt and vanilla.
    Add sifted flour and baking powder.
    Fold in dates and pecans.
    Spread in 8 x 8 x 2-inch greased pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 until done, approximately 25 minutes.
    Cut into squares while warm.
