Meringue Peaches(Light Dessert) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 egg whites
1/8 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
3 Tbsp. sugar
1 Tbsp. cornstarch
3 large ripe peaches, peeled and halved (about 1 1/2 lb.)
2 Tbsp. finely chopped walnuts
Preparation

Combine egg whites (at room temperature) in a large bowl at high speed of an electric mixer until foamy.
Sprinkle salt, cream of tartar and vanilla over egg whites; continue beating until soft peak forms.
Gradually add sugar, a tablespoon at a time, and cornstarch, beating until stiff peaks form.
Place peach halves, cut side down in six 10-ounce custard cups.
Spread peaches evenly with meringue.
Sprinkle with walnuts.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 10 minutes, or golden brown.
Serve immediately.
Yields six servings, 103 calories and 1.4 g fat per serving.
