Apple Cream Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 to 3 Tbsp. ice water
Preparation

Combine flour and salt.
Cut in shortening with two knives or a pastry cutter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Sprinkle with vanilla and stir in with fork.
Sprinkle with water, 1 tablespoon at a time, stirring until pastry holds together.
Shape into a ball.
On lightly floured surface, roll dough to 1/8-inch thickness.
Transfer to 9-inch pie plate.
Trim and flute.
