Caramel Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 1/2 c. Karo
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 c. whipping cream
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Combine sugar, syrup and salt; add 1/2 cup cream.
    Cook and stir until soft ball stage.
    Add another 1/2 cup cream, continue to cook and stir and let it reach 236\u00b0.
    Stir last 1/2 cup cream and cook and stir until the candy thermometer reaches 242\u00b0. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and nuts; let cool to 200\u00b0 before pouring into buttered
    9 x 9-inch dish with Handi-Wrap in the bottom.
    Don't use wax paper or the caramel will stick.
