Dutch Apple Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. shortening
    1 egg
    1 c. milk
    fresh apples with skins sliced thin
    1/4 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
    Sift the dry ingredients 3 times (with the exception of the cinnamon); cut in the shortening and add the egg and milk, which have been mixed together.
    Mix thoroughly.
    Pour into a well-greased oblong pan and cover with apples which are sliced. Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon and bake in a moderate oven (350\u00b0) for 35 minutes.
